Accredited Training

Humanistic Mediation and Viking Mediation

About the webinar

Mediation practitioners are consistently challenged by the interplay between the emotional and intellectual dimensions of conflict—the "head and the heart". This webinar provides an advanced exploration of international mediation cultures, giving Australian practitioners new frameworks and perspectives to enhance their practice. It is designed to deepen your understanding of diverse conflict resolution approaches and their philosophical underpinnings.

This training is presented by international expert Greg Rooney and examines the culture of family mediation in France and Denmark. The session clarifies the distinctions, challenges, and advantages of the relationship-focused Humanistic Mediation approach (France) versus the more directive Viking Mediation approach (Denmark). Furthermore, you will gain an understanding of complexity theory and its direct application to the role of the mediator.

Secure your registration to master advanced concepts in mediation theory, enabling you to better interact with parties, manage conflict complexity, and deliver robust outcomes in family and workplace dispute resolution.
