Diversity and Inclusion

Our commitment to you

Here at the Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) Centre for Learning and Innovation, we are dedicated to offering professional development and workplace support that is safe, inclusive, and accessible to everyone in the community. This commitment extends to individuals of all religions, ages, genders, sexual orientations, lifestyle choices, cultural backgrounds, and economic circumstances.

We believe all people, in their diverse experiences, have the fundamental right to live safely and with dignity within their families and communities, and to experience positive, respectful, safe, and fulfilling relationships.

Across our programs, we welcome:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • People experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse Victorians
  • LGBTIQA+ communities
  • People with disability

We are committed to:

Supporting diverse communities

We have a rich history of welcoming, acknowledging and celebrating the diversity found within Victoria's communities. This cultural diversity is also present within our organisation's workforce and is recognised by our leadership and Board as an organisational strength.

We provide programs that cater to community needs, including tailoring services to meet the needs of the client groups with which we work.

Driving cultural change across the organisation

At Relationships Australia Victoria, the Centre for Learning and Innovation is instrumental in fostering cultural change that prioritises inclusivity, accessibility, and respect across all our services.

We actively support initiatives such as our Diversity Working Group and Rainbow Working Group. This ensures staff gain the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to provide accessible, culturally responsive, and inclusive services. Programs such as 'Mediating with Rainbow Families' directly empower practitioners to confidently support individuals and families.

Relationships Australia Victoria acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waterways of Australia. We support Aboriginal people’s right to self-determination and culturally safe services.
