Course overview

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term, evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on building solutions rather than analysing problems. By drawing on clients’ goals, strengths, and values, SFBT helps create rapid, meaningful progress and fosters lasting positive change. This workshop introduces you to the theory and practice of SFBT while equipping you with practical skills to integrate the approach into your work with individuals, families, and groups.

About the presenters

Jeff Roberts is a clinical psychologist with over 25 years’ experience in counselling across diverse mental health settings in Australia and overseas. He specialises in cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, narrative, and acceptance and commitment therapies, as well as positive psychology approaches. Jeff has extensive expertise in men’s health and experience working with the LGBTIQ+ community across a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. He has also provided coaching, leadership development, and training in organisational settings. In addition to private practice, Jeff lectures and facilitates workshops at Monash University, ACAP, RMIT, and Relationships Australia Victoria.

  • Registrations close 48 hours before the workshop
  • Payment must be received at least 2 business days before the session
  • For invoice payments, proof of remittance must be submitted at least 24 hours before the event
