This workshop is designed for clinicians, social workers, community organisation staff, health professionals, youth workers, child and family workers, and counsellors with any level of experience who support individuals or families experiencing grief and loss.
This workshop focuses on distinguishing complicated grief from typical bereavement and equips practitioners to recognise its diverse presentations and respond effectively. Participants will:
Lefteris Patlamazoglou is a counselling psychologist and lecturer in psychology and counselling at Monash University. In his practice, teaching, and research, he has worked extensively with clients experiencing grief, trauma, complex bereavement, and issues related to migration and identity. Lefteris brings specialist expertise in working with LGBTIQA+ communities, migrant populations, and young people, with a research focus on wellbeing, grief, and belonging. His approach acknowledges the intersection of multiple identities and their influence on mental health, resilience, and vulnerability.
